1. You must notify us of any change of address. If we receive reports of returned letters it may be necessary to remove and delete your ad. Address changes, corrections to ad, are free, however, if you want to change your photo and/or rewrite your ad there will be a five dollar additional charge. If you are changing both photo and ad description the charge is $10.00. Please try and keep the ad under 250 words. A photo is highly recommended as the response with ads without photos is very poor. The original photo will be returned along with confirmation of ad being posted. In prisons that allow us to do so, we will send you a print out of the ad as it appears on the internet.

2. Please advise us of a change in your release date. If you are estimating your time of release after gain time please specify that on your application. Your ad will be removed according to the release date.

3. A web page is like an electronic newspaper or magazine with a circulation that reaches around the entire world. Meet-An-Inmate.Com is listed at or near the top of most of the Internet search engines. However, we cannot guarantee how many responses (if any) you will receive. We recommend that you concentrate on ‘seeking friendship’ instead of a serious romantic relationship. We want you to get results from your web page and we work hard to get you responses. Possibly things will develop into that over time.

4. A friend or relative can submit your ad and photo for you and pay the fee. Only you can cancel the ad or make changes once the ad is placed. 5. If you experience more mail than you can handle please advise us and we can permanently delete or put a hold on your ad until further notice. This will not change the expiration date of ad.

6. We make very few changes to the wording of an ad other than correcting spelling errors; however, we reserve the right to edit, delete, reject, or change wording in any ad. No profanity or adult content is permitted. If we discover you sent in a photo that was not of you or gave false information on your application, we will remove your ad. Do not ask your pen pals for money.

8. Your name and mailing address will appear directly on the ad. There is no charge to your penpals to write to you. We do not forward emails.

9. Once we go to the expense of scanning your photo and building the web page there will be no refunds. There is no discount if your sentence is less than 12 months.

10. We will accept stamps (65) as payment, but highly prefer a money order. In New York and South Dakota inmates are prohibited from using stamps as a form of payment. Also in New York and most other states inmate to inmate correspondence is not allowed.

Note: Meet-An-Inmate.com has been in business since 1998 and has the lowest Alexa.com rating of any inmate penpal site. Alexa.Com is a Google owned site that rates websites by the amount of traffic they receive. This is important as high traffic is crucial. Any rating over 500,000 is a waste of your money. Meet-An-Inmate.com usually is slightly above or under 65,000. As of day of this printing ranking is 65007. When considering an inmate penpals company I would not recommend selecting a company below a traffic ranking of number 10, preferably not below number 5.
