Do you consider yourself a social person? I still find myself
craving interaction with the outside world. I am seeking
friendship with people who can see past these walls and bars
that hold all of us back, no matter if you are in the free world
or not.
My name is Nathan. I have been down, but not out, for the past
14 years. At the age of 16, I made a tragically dumb decision by
allowing myself to become involved in murder. I do not want this
callous act to forever define who I am.
The past five years have found me involved with the Human Rights
Watch and gathering support for California Senate bills designed
to help juvenile lifers. Even if you do not contact me, please
visit
www.fairsentencingforyouth.org and see what a vast number of
people are doing to help juvenile lifers.
I keep myself busy throughout the day. I find it is the best way
to maintain good mental and physical health. I am an avid
reader. I enjoy watching movies. I stay active through exercise,
running, and playing sports.
I know putting yourself out there can be a nerve-racking
experience. I promise to be honest and open in discussing and
sharing life's ups and downs. Through correspondence, phone
calls and visits, if both parties feel comfortable with each
other, I look forward to being a positive aspect in others
lives. Everyone has these wonderfully unique qualities just
under the surface. Uniqueness is what keeps life interesting.
